Committee on New Student Onboarding

In December 2016, a multi-stakeholder taskforce was formed and charged with assessing the current state of onboarding activities for students new to ISU (at the departmental, college, and central levels) in the areas of student life and academics. The group engaged in a formal process mapping of new student onboarding, with the assistance of expertise from The Boeing Corporation. At present, the group is identifying gaps and unproductive duplication in ISU’s current new student onboarding portfolio, with the ultimate goal to recommend multi-year actions that can be taken at the departmental, college and central levels, with a variety of potential delivery modes, directed at success in student life and academic performance.
